DAY 32 – CAMBRIDGE ON ICE

Today has been the biggest test to both my will power and determination…. let me explain.

The day started off a little rocky. I was a miserable git all day… felt really tired and down. I think it might be due to the fact I felt like i’ve lost nothing this week and is a bit discouraging.
Anyway, we all leave work and head off for the departmental Christmas doo. First we all go to a pub, and everyone gets the beers in… except me of course that stuck to water. Easy enough!

Then came the hard part… the Sushi restaurant. Table for 5, four eating gorgeous smelling food and one with a ready made Cambridge shake. To make it harder, all the food is constantly whirring around a carousel next to the table. I stayed strong, and looking back I think it shows how far mentally I’ve come. A few months ago, I wouldn’t have been able to just sit there and watch all the lovely food going round without going on a cookie monster !NOM NOM NOM! spree. But I sat there, happy in the knowledge that I was stronger than to give in to a few moments of pleasure followed by a lifetime of knowing how weak I was.

I am Genuinely Proud of Myself.

Then came the Ice Skating… outside, 10:30pm at Somerset House, Charing Cross – London. With all the will power in the world on my side, I’ve learnt that it doesnt help Ice skills at all, for in a whole hour I managed a mammoth 3 laps.. and a stint in the learners section…  That might go on the list… learn to ice skate. If I can do this batty diet and sit in a crowded restaurant without even so much as a wanting look, I can glide on frozen water with a couple of knives jammed into the bottom of a boot…..ok, maybe not.

DAY 29 – WHAT A DAY

Today has been quite eventful!

Week 5 if Add a Meal Week. This means that you can actually have food!! (not a lot, 2oz of chicken/fish/cottege cheese and veg. I had my first one today… 2oz of Tuna in Springwater and some cucumber.
Before I would have looked at that little meal and inhaled it in about 2 seconds… but it was a strange sensation to take my time, enjoy every bit of it… and be completley stufed afterwards – short of it is, I very much enjoyed it.
I am a little worried about keeping the weight loss momentum up, as a couple of people on the MiniMins forum have seen significant slow down of weight loss during that week. So, I’m replacing one of my foodpacks with the add a meal instead of having the reccommended 4 packs and the meal. I did however buy some extra packs, just in case.
After work, I went for a “networking” drinks/food meet up in the city… lots of drinks, food and very influential people. I was introduced by a friend to everyone as “This guy has lost 2 stone in a month!” everyone was interested about the diet, and I regailed them of tails of what it’s like not to eat for a month.I was very good and resisited all the snacks being offered by waitresses and all the free wine and beer… and stuck to the water. I did however step it up and go for the sparkling water, just to live on the edge a little.
At about 8pm, I looked in my bag to find my ready made banana shake.. and I had left it at work. Shit. I got home at about 1:30 am and went straight to bed… not good, I should have had the extra shake.

I feel very well behaved :)

Well four weeks in… thats one month.

I can’t believe I haven’t eaten food in a month!… this is too mad to think about!

Went in for my weigh today with Diane my counsellor… and I have lost another 7 Pounds this week! Amazing stuff!! – Today I am really pleased.

Tomorrow is Add a Meal week…. where I can add small meals for that one week… then back the norm. I am a little worried about it slowing down, but we’ll see :)
